Rhododendrons sprinkled with snow.

Rhododendrons sprinkled with snow.

It’s that time of year when I wonder why I traded sunshine for snow!  We’ve had a few bitter cold days here and yes—snow already.  Early November seems early for snow to me, but what do I know?  I’m new here in the Northeast.  People here don’t bat an eye when snow covers the ground.  But for me, a former Phoenician, it is a shock to my system.

The only thing that keeps my spirits high when the temps are down, is the beauty of fresh fallen snow.  It’s so clean and pure. Add in a little of nature’s vivid greens and reds into the mix and it’s a magnificent sight to behold.  It starts to feel like the holiday season.  And that’s not something you’ll find in the desert!

P.S.  Is it snowing in your neck of the woods yet?
